Jacket — Playlist Cover Maker

Effective Date: February 16, 2026

1. Introduction

Playlist Jacket (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Jacket mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App. By using Jacket, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you connect a music platform, the App accesses limited data through that platform’s API. This includes:

Playlist names, descriptions, and track listings from your Apple Music or Spotify library.

Spotify account identifiers necessary for the OAuth 2.0 authentication flow.

Cover images you create or customize within the App.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Jacket does not use any analytics, tracking, or crash reporting SDKs. We do not collect device identifiers, usage statistics, IP addresses, or any other automatically gathered data.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We want to be clear about what Jacket never accesses:

We do not access or store your music files or audio content.

We do not collect your name, email address, or other personal contact information through the App.

We do not collect location data.

We do not collect financial or payment information directly — all purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

All data generated and used by Jacket is stored locally on your device. We do not operate any backend servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure that receive your data. Your playlist information, cover designs, and app preferences never leave your device except when explicitly sent to a third-party service at your request (for example, uploading a cover image to Spotify).

4. Third-Party Services

Jacket integrates with the following third-party services to provide its core functionality. Each service has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your data:

4.1 Apple Music (via MusicKit)

Jacket uses Apple’s MusicKit framework to access your Apple Music library playlists. Authentication is handled entirely by Apple on your device. We only read playlist metadata (names, descriptions, track listings) and do not modify your Apple Music library. Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

4.2 Spotify (via Web API)

Jacket uses the Spotify Web API with OAuth 2.0 (Authorization Code with PKCE) to access your Spotify playlists and, with your permission, upload custom cover images to your playlists. The App requests only the minimum scopes necessary: playlist-read-private, playlist-modify-public, playlist-modify-private, and ugc-image-upload. Your Spotify access and refresh tokens are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers. Spotify’s privacy policy: https://www.spotify.com/legal/privacy-policy/

4.3 Unsplash (via API)

Jacket uses the Unsplash API to let you search for and use high-quality photographs as cover backgrounds. When you search for images, your search queries are sent to Unsplash’s servers. We do not associate these queries with any personal identifier. Unsplash’s privacy policy: https://unsplash.com/privacy

4.4 RevenueCat

Jacket uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat processes a pseudonymous app user ID and purchase receipt data provided by Apple. No personally identifiable information is shared with RevenueCat by us. RevenueCat’s privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/

4.5 Apple App Store (In-App Purchases)

All subscription purchases and payment processing are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple’s terms and privacy policy govern these transactions.

5. How We Use Your Information

The limited data Jacket accesses is used solely to:

Display your playlists so you can select one for cover creation.

Populate cover templates with playlist metadata (such as the playlist name).

Upload finished cover artwork to Spotify at your explicit request.

Save finished cover artwork to your device’s photo library at your request.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Data is only transmitted to the third-party services listed in Section 4, and only as necessary to provide the App’s core features.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. Deleting the App from your device will remove all locally stored data, including cached playlist information, saved cover projects, and stored authentication tokens. To revoke Jacket’s access to your Spotify account, visit your Spotify account settings at https://www.spotify.com/account/apps/. To revoke Apple Music access, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Media & Apple Music on your device.

8. Children’s Privacy

Jacket is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.

9. Security

Because Jacket stores all data locally on your device and does not transmit data to our own servers, your information benefits from the security measures built into iOS, including hardware encryption and app sandboxing. Spotify authentication tokens are stored securely on-device.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Since Jacket stores data only on your device and we do not maintain any user databases, you can exercise these rights directly by managing or deleting the App. If you have questions about your rights or need assistance, please contact us.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
