Terms of Use
Jacket — Playlist Cover Maker
Effective Date: August 5, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Jacket — Playlist Cover Maker mobile application, related features, and associated services collectively referred to as the “App.”
The App is operated by Playlist Jacket (“Playlist Jacket,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By downloading, installing, accessing, purchasing through, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and agree to be bound by them.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download or use the App.
2. Apple App Store Terms
The App is distributed through Apple’s App Store.
Your license to use the App is also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the applicable App Store Usage Rules. These Terms supplement Apple’s terms.
If these Terms conflict with Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement concerning your license to use the App on an Apple device, Apple’s terms will control to the extent of the conflict.
You acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and Playlist Jacket, not Apple.
- Playlist Jacket, not Apple, is responsible for the App and its content, except as otherwise required under Apple’s terms.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the App, including product-liability, consumer-protection, or intellectual-property claims, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce applicable provisions concerning your use of the App.
3. Description of the App
Jacket is a playlist-cover design tool that allows you to create customized artwork for playlists and other personal music collections.
The App may provide:
- Ready-made cover templates
- Text, font, color, layout, and visual-effect tools
- User-photo importing
- Image searching through Unsplash
- Apple Music playlist access
- Artist-inspired cover layouts
- Local project saving
- High-resolution cover exporting
- Instructions for applying exported covers to Apple Music or Spotify
- Free and Premium features
The current version of Jacket does not connect to your Spotify account, retrieve your Spotify playlists, or upload cover images directly to Spotify.
Covers created for Spotify must be exported from Jacket and applied manually through Spotify’s own app or website.
We may add, modify, replace, suspend, or remove App features at any time.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
By using the App, you represent that:
- You are at least 13 years old.
- You have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
- Your use of the App is permitted under applicable law.
- If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
If you use the App on behalf of a business, organization, artist, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
5. License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms and Apple’s applicable App Store terms, Playlist Jacket grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to install and use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control.
The App is licensed, not sold.
Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you may not:
- Copy, distribute, sell, lease, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App
- Make the App available over a network for use by multiple unrelated users
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the App’s source code
- Modify or create derivative versions of the App
- Bypass subscription controls, access restrictions, or technical protections
- Use automated systems to extract templates, images, metadata, or other App Content
- Remove copyright, trademark, attribution, or proprietary notices
- Use the App to build or support a competing product or service
No rights are granted except those expressly stated in these Terms.
6. Apple Music Access
Jacket may request permission to access your Apple Music library through Apple’s MusicKit framework.
If you grant permission, Jacket may access limited playlist and music-library information needed to provide App features, including:
- Playlist names
- Playlist descriptions
- Playlist identifiers
- Track counts
- Track and artist information
- Playlist artwork
- Artist artwork
- Related playlist metadata
This information may be used to display your playlists, populate designs, and provide artist-inspired cover options.
Jacket does not obtain ownership of your playlists or music library.
You can revoke Apple Music access through your device’s privacy settings. Revoking access may prevent playlist-related features from working.
Your use of Apple Music remains subject to Apple’s applicable terms and policies.
7. App Content and Templates
The App’s templates, layouts, graphics, interface elements, artwork, icons, text styles, software, code, and other materials supplied by Playlist Jacket are collectively referred to as “App Content.”
App Content is owned by Playlist Jacket or used under an applicable license and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.
App Content is licensed to you only for use through Jacket to create completed cover images.
You may use completed covers created through the App:
- As playlist artwork
- In your personal music library
- On compatible music platforms
- In personal social-media posts
- For other personal, non-commercial sharing
Unless Playlist Jacket gives you prior written permission, you may not:
- Extract or redistribute templates or template components separately from a completed cover
- Sell, sublicense, license, or distribute App Content as standalone assets
- Resell substantially unchanged templates
- Upload App Content to stock-asset, template, or design marketplaces
- Claim ownership of the underlying templates or App Content
- Use App Content to create a competing template library or cover-design application
- Remove required credits, notices, watermarks, or attribution
- Use App Content in a way that infringes another person’s rights
Your ability to use a completed cover does not transfer ownership of its underlying templates, graphics, fonts, third-party images, or other App Content to you.
8. User Content
“User Content” means images, photographs, text, playlist names, and other material you import, enter, or select for use in the App.
You retain any ownership rights you already hold in your User Content.
You grant Playlist Jacket only the limited permission necessary for the App to process, display, edit, render, save, and export your User Content at your direction.
Because Jacket operates primarily on your device, Playlist Jacket does not claim a general license to publish or commercially exploit your User Content.
You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that:
- You own it or have permission to use it.
- Its use does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other third-party rights.
- You have any necessary consent from people shown in an image.
- You are permitted to use any displayed logos, artwork, brands, or protected material.
- Its use complies with applicable law and the rules of any platform where you publish it.
You may not use the App to create, import, or distribute content that:
- Is unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, or defamatory
- Exploits or endangers a child
- Contains unlawful sexually explicit material
- Promotes violence or unlawful discrimination
- Infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights
- Contains malicious code or is intended to interfere with the App
- Impersonates another person or falsely suggests an endorsement
- Violates the applicable terms of Apple Music, Spotify, Unsplash, or another platform
We are not responsible for User Content or for claims arising from your use of it.
9. Unsplash Images
Jacket may allow you to search for and use photographs supplied through the Unsplash API.
Images made available by Unsplash are subject to Unsplash’s own license, terms, policies, and any rights associated with the contents of a particular image.
Although an image may be licensed under the Unsplash License, additional permission may still be required for:
- Recognizable people
- Trademarks, logos, and brands
- Artwork or copyrighted works shown in an image
- Private property
- Commercial endorsements
- Other third-party rights
You are responsible for determining whether your intended use of an Unsplash image requires additional authorization.
You may not use Jacket or Unsplash images to falsely imply that a person, artist, company, brand, or organization endorses you, your playlist, or your content.
Unsplash may change, restrict, suspend, or discontinue its API or image availability at any time. Playlist Jacket is not responsible for the continued availability of any Unsplash image or feature.
10. Exported Covers and Platform Rules
Jacket allows you to export completed cover images to your device.
You are responsible for:
- Reviewing the completed cover before publishing it
- Confirming that you have the necessary rights to all included material
- Following the image, content, copyright, and community rules of the destination platform
- Applying the cover through the destination platform
- Maintaining backup copies of exported files you wish to retain
Playlist Jacket cannot guarantee that Apple Music, Spotify, or another service will accept, display, retain, or continue supporting a particular cover image.
Third-party platforms may crop, compress, reject, remove, replace, or otherwise modify a cover according to their own rules.
11. Saved Projects and Local Data
Jacket may store cover projects, thumbnails, imported photos, preferences, and related project information locally on your device.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of any content you wish to preserve.
Projects or imported images may be lost if you:
- Delete the App
- Delete a project
- Clear the App’s storage
- Lose, damage, restore, or replace your device
- Experience a device, operating-system, or storage failure
Playlist Jacket does not guarantee that local projects can be recovered.
Exported images saved to your photo library are managed separately through Apple’s Photos app.
12. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
Jacket may provide a free tier and optional Premium subscriptions or purchases.
The specific price, duration, trial period, introductory offer, and included features are displayed in the App before purchase. Prices may vary by country, currency, tax requirements, and App Store storefront.
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple’s Media Services Terms and applicable App Store policies.
By purchasing an auto-renewable subscription, you understand that:
- Payment is charged to the payment method associated with your Apple Account after you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription automatically renews unless automatic renewal is turned off before the end of the current subscription period.
- Apple may charge your account for renewal according to the price and billing terms shown in the App Store.
- Any free trial or introductory offer may convert into a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial or offer ends.
- Premium access may end when a subscription expires, is canceled, is refunded, or fails to renew.
- Deleting Jacket does not cancel an active subscription.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings.
Purchase validation, entitlement status, and purchase restoration may be provided through RevenueCat.
Playlist Jacket does not receive or store your complete payment-card or banking information.
Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s applicable refund policies. Playlist Jacket cannot independently issue an App Store refund unless Apple provides a mechanism that permits it.
Except where required by law or Apple’s policies, canceling a subscription does not entitle you to a refund for a partially used billing period.
We may change Premium features or future subscription prices. Any subscription-price change will be handled according to Apple’s applicable rules and notices.
13. Third-Party Services
Jacket may interact with or depend upon third-party platforms and services, including:
- Apple and Apple Music
- The App Store
- MusicKit
- Photos
- Unsplash
- RevenueCat
- Spotify, when you independently apply an exported cover
- Other services available through your device’s share sheet
Your use of a third-party service is governed by that provider’s own terms, policies, and agreements.
Playlist Jacket does not control and is not responsible for:
- Third-party content
- Service interruptions
- Changes to third-party APIs or policies
- Account restrictions or suspensions
- Third-party data practices
- Content removal or rejection
- Lost playlists or account information
- A third party’s decision to discontinue a feature
- Actions you take outside Jacket
Third-party services may be unavailable in some locations or may change without notice.
14. No Affiliation or Endorsement
Playlist Jacket is an independent application.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Playlist Jacket is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially associated with Apple, Apple Music, Spotify, Unsplash, RevenueCat, or any artist, record label, music publisher, brand, or platform shown or referenced through the App.
Apple, Apple Music, Spotify, Unsplash, RevenueCat, and other names and marks belong to their respective owners.
References to third-party services are used only to identify compatibility or describe App functionality.
15. Intellectual Property
The App and its underlying technology, including its:
- Source and object code
- User interface
- Features
- Templates
- Original graphics
- Branding
- Icons
- Text

are owned by Playlist Jacket or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
“Jacket,” “Playlist Jacket,” associated logos, and related branding may not be used without prior written permission.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the App or App Content to you.
16. Copyright Complaints
We respect the intellectual-property rights of others.

We may request additional information before investigating a complaint.
Copyright claims involving User Content published on Apple Music, Spotify, social media, or another third-party service may also need to be submitted directly to that service.
17. Privacy
Your use of Jacket is also governed by the Jacket Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how information is used, when third-party services may process information, and the choices available to you.
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review the Privacy Policy.
18. App Availability and Updates
We may release updates, corrections, improvements, or new versions of the App.
Some updates may be required to continue using certain features. Older versions may stop functioning because of operating-system changes, security requirements, third-party service changes, or discontinued APIs.
We do not guarantee that:
- Every feature will remain available
- The App will work on every device or operating-system version
- Third-party integrations will continue indefinitely
- Existing templates will remain available
- Local projects created in one version will always be compatible with future versions
- The App will be offered in every country or language
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the App without liability, subject to applicable consumer law.
19. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the App and all related features, templates, content, and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, with all faults.
Playlist Jacket disclaims all warranties and conditions, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Satisfactory quality
- Accuracy
- Availability
- Quiet enjoyment
- Non-infringement
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Every exported image will render identically on every platform
- A cover will be accepted by Apple Music, Spotify, or another service
- Local files or projects will never be lost
- Third-party services will remain available
- The App will meet every personal or commercial requirement
- All defects will be corrected
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer warranty or statutory right that cannot legally be excluded.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Playlist Jacket and its owners, developers, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to:
- Your use of or inability to use the App
- Lost or corrupted projects, images, or data
- Unauthorized use of User Content
- Rejected or removed cover images
- Subscription interruptions
- Third-party services
- Business interruption
- Lost profits, revenue, opportunities, goodwill, or reputation
- Reliance on App content or instructions
This limitation applies regardless of whether a claim is based on contract, warranty, negligence, tort, strict liability, statute, or another legal theory, even if Playlist Jacket was advised that such damages were possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Playlist Jacket’s total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the App will not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid directly for the App or a Jacket subscription during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- Fifty United States dollars.
These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, including any liability that applicable law requires us to accept.
21. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Playlist Jacket and its owners, developers, contractors, licensors, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, and reasonable legal expenses arising out of or related to:

- Your violation of applicable law
- Your infringement of another person’s intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights
- Your publication or commercial use of an exported cover
- A dispute between you and a third party concerning content you created through the App
This provision does not require you to indemnify Playlist Jacket for conduct for which indemnification is prohibited by applicable law.
22. Suspension and Termination
These Terms remain effective until terminated.
You may terminate your use of the App at any time by stopping use and deleting the App from your device.
Deleting the App does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
Your license to use Jacket may terminate automatically if you materially violate these Terms.
Where technically and legally permitted, we may also:
- Restrict access to online or third-party-dependent features
- Refuse support for abusive or fraudulent conduct
- Suspend access to Premium features obtained unlawfully
- Discontinue the App
- Take reasonable action to protect Playlist Jacket, its users, or third parties
Upon termination, your right to use the App ends. Provisions that by their nature should continue—including ownership, intellectual-property, disclaimers, liability limitations, indemnification, and dispute provisions—will survive termination.
23. Legal Compliance and Export Restrictions
You may use the App only in compliance with applicable laws.
You may not export, re-export, or use the App in violation of United States export-control laws or the laws of the country where you obtained the App.

- Listed on an applicable government restricted-party list
- Using the App for a purpose prohibited by applicable law
24. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Playlist Jacket is legally established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute relating to these Terms or the App must be brought before a court with competent jurisdiction over Playlist Jacket, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in another jurisdiction.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot be waived under the laws of the country, state, or province where you live.
Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at info@playlistjacket.com and make a reasonable effort to resolve the dispute informally.
25. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to:
- The App
- Available features
- Subscription offerings
- Third-party services
- Applicable law
- Our business practices
When these Terms are updated, we will revise the Effective Date displayed at the top.
Material changes may also be communicated through the App, our website, or the App Store listing when appropriate.
Your continued use of Jacket after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to an update, you must stop using the App.
26. General Terms
Entire agreement
These Terms, the Jacket Privacy Policy, and the applicable Apple terms constitute the agreement governing your use of the App.
Severability
If a provision is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the greatest extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
No waiver
A failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written permission.
We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, asset transfer, or sale of the App or related business.
